Winter Commercial Gillnet Fishery

The four Columbia River treaty fishing tribes met today to discuss the winter gillnet treaty mainstem fishery. Due to a higher than expected catch rate in The Dalles Pool, the fishery in The Dalles Pool only will be closed one day early. The John Day Pool fishery will remain open until Saturday 6 PM as previously scheduled.

Winter Commercial Gillnet Fishery

  • The Dalles Pool will close ONE DAY EARLY at 6:00 PM on Friday, February 7.
  • John Day Pool will close as scheduled at 6:00pm on Saturday, February 8.
  • The Zone 6 platform and hook-and-line fishery remains open as scheduled.

The tribes will meet again early next week to review catches and may consider additional fishing time in other pools as appropriate.
