Sea lions and salmon

These photos are of salmon harvested by Umatilla tribal fishers for their ceremonial spring Chinook havest. This is the most important ceremonial harvest, as they represent the first salmon to return and are used for the first salmon feasts. Many tribal members were dismayed to see so many of these fish damaged and injured by the sea lions below Bonneville Dam. Click on each photo to enlarge.
