Project Goal

To collect, organize, and disseminate scientific research, traditional knowledge and other relevant information about the Columbia River basin fisheries and ecosystems.

Impacts

This project will provide information for sound decision-making and disseminate tribal success stories to other stakeholders.

Background

Offering traditional library services as well as employing innovative information distribution methods, the StreamNet Library serves the scientific community of the Pacific Northwest and those researchers working in cooperation with the region’s fish and wildlife recovery efforts who are not otherwise served by a specialized library. We also serve the General Public who are interested in the issues surrounding the Columbia Basin and salmon recovery efforts.

Project Tasks

  1. Collect documents from government agencies (state, federal, tribal) to add to collections.
  2. Advertise resources and distribute information to customers.
  3. Develop bibliographies and other information summaries for customers.
  4. Provide access to information on Columbia Basin fisheries via the Internet.
